Starting this blog. . .

So, my best friend since we were both in the 9th grade (Nancy) and I are celebrating 40 years of friendship in the fall of 2012.  When we met, we were both cast in the school play of A Christmas Carol.  During rehearsals and lunch periods and eventually even one class together, we became fast friends, sharing long walks, silly jokes, and sleepovers where we more often than not stayed up to watch the sun rise.  That year, I think we each helped to save the other's life and we have comforted each other and shared countless joys together for all of these years.  We want to do something really special to celebrate this milestone in our friendship.  Nancy, being an editor (who encourages me, a wannabe writer), said tonight, as we were contemplating our options (having ruled out going on a safari in Africa, at least for THIS anniversary) that I should start a blog and get advice from all of you out there who stumble upon it.  So, here we go. This is my very first blog and my very first 40th anniversary best friend adventure.  I welcome your suggestions!!
